Randy Rebert

The Dover Diamond Sports family would like to express our deepest sympathies to the family and friends of Randy Rebert, who passed recently after a long battle with cancer. We would also like to express our gratitude to Randy and his family for all of the time and effort that he put into Dover softball over the years as a coach and board member. You would be hard pressed to find a man with a greater passion for the game of softball and for the girls who played for him. His ability to instill in his players the knowledge of the game and that same passion for the game was special. Randy taught his players how to overcome obstacles and how to become better players and through team sports helped mold them into better young people . The measure of a coach is not only wins and losses, but the ability to have his/her players put the team first and work towards a common goal. Randy excelled at that as so many of his former players would attest. Thank you Randy for the examples you set and the standard to which Dover softball will try to maintain. We would greatly appreciate any thoughts or memories that any of his former players, coaches or parents would like to share.
